window switch [Aug. 19th, 2008|04:01 pm]
Mazda Owners & Enthusiasts

[mood |worriedworried]

I noticed today that the driver's window switch on my '94 MX-3 is harder to pull up to close the window. The passenger side driver's control broke off already and I have to open that window by leaning over.

So my fear is that the switch is, at some point, going to break. Does anyone know if this is an easy fix? Am I going to have to take it to a Mazda dealership? What do you think this sort of thing would cost?

Ask on mx-3.com, someone will sell you a replacement pretty cheap I'm sure.

So it's physical damage, not electrical or window motor related?

It's quite easy to replace the actual switch. You have to take the door panel off, disconnect the little wire connector - and remove the switch module. Seriously, it's hard to screw it up.

You should be able to find one if you call a few scrap yards. Out here in Ontario, it would probably be around $50 or less.

As well, www.mx-3.com has some scanned MX-3 manuals that would show the window assembly.
